Update on Rick's. The weekends continue to be spectacular. They have added a couple things since the last review that I love. 1. Lobster Mac and Cheese. Meal in itself. If you are starving or just want really good Mac and Cheese, order it and share with friend. Very rich, right mixture of cheeses. Yum. 2. Smoked Salmon - Awesome. Perfectly smoked. The rub might be just a tiny bit salty but damn. All of the fat renders out, the smoke goes in. Really good. 3. Fish Spreads - This is not smoked mullet, I hate that oily crap. The is a fish spread made with Mahi that it killer. Ask for a couple peppers to go with it. I am not a fish spread guy but this is top notch. Say hi to Sam and Rick. Good people!

Food was delicious and fresh tasting. I got the Rick's Mac n Cheese and the server said it was made to order and I could definitely tell! Very casual atmosphere with great drink specials! $4 margaritas, can't beat that! The staff was very friendly and the service was good. I believe it was the owner who came around and said hi to everyone and gave us all free koozies! I would definitely recommend that you swing by this place either during or after your beach day!

Went here on a Tuesday night after the Spring Break rush with a group. We were seated immediately by a friendly host and after we all settled in, our waitress came up and took our drink orders. They arrived promptly and we put in our dinner orders. We got : fish tacos, blackened mahi mahi with a side of Mac n cheese, and grilled salmon. Everything was solid, no standout menu items, but for the quality, service, and price everything matched accordingly. Place is nothing special from the outside or inside decor wise, but fits the beach theme of St. Pete's. Overall, solid place to eat if you want a step up from bar food without the price tag attached. That being said, the menu offered plenty of bar food options too. Oh, and I forgot to mention: great margaritas! Tasty and cheap!

Excellent pet friendly open air atmosphere, great service, and excellent food makes this a fun choice for an early dinner or late lunch. The crab cake sandwich was loaded with real crab, the onion rings were better than most, with a light crunchy breading, and the mac n' cheese was creamy and delicious!

First off, if your side is gross, you cannot change to another. Even asking to try a small sample (tropical coleslaw was the name) (sounded odd to everyone at the table) "the owner doesn't allow that." In addition to this, if you want to substitute sides you are out of luck also. Not even for an upcharge! The owner needs to learn about customer service. I would definitely not visit again and do not recommend. The food was not great and the fish cooked terribly. I was going to complain about the fish but clearly from talking to people, the owner wouldn't care/do anything about it. The happy hour drinks were not bad and the beer was cold. The service was also poor and took sometime. They also do not accept American Express....... Sad visit for sure. SMH.....

First night here; chose a place around the corner to unwind and have a nice meal. It was very good; shrimp and stuffed grouper was delightful. So was the meatloaf. Courteous staff and great service. Took awhile to get the bill as they were busy so he brought us a free slice of a very delicious key lime pie! Will definitely go again!

Went on St Patrick's day- admittedly a day when one should stay away from the crowds - but we had the best lunch on the beach. The corned beef and cabbage was superb-!served with red potatoes- and my wife had the grouper- doesn't always show up on the menu-!but if you ask- and they have it - ask for it blackened. Their fries are perfectly fine and not coated - the service was good and the owner is really there asking if everything is ok- highly recommend it for lunch or dinner!

This is a local casual bar restaurant with very loud music. The food is very decent and clean but the focus seems to be on pushing the drinks. Its for younger folks for sure. We were sorry that the music volume could/would not be adjusted. Talking normally is difficult there. Nice varied menu.

  • Erik D.

The food was very good. I ordered the crab cake sandwich which had very good flavor and large chunks of crab. My wife ordered the mahi-mahi fish tacos. They were very good but they put a little to much cheese. My wife ended up taking the fish out and eating it separately. My son ordered the macaroni and cheese which was probably some of the best I've tasted. The wait staff was very nice and took they time explaining things.

Very good, had the crab cake sandwich and fish tacos. Both were much better than anticipated, but the real star was their French fries, hand cut and delicious!

Prices are good, but staff are sub-par. We order food, 25 minutes no problem, we'll wait. 10 minutes later the order hasn't been placed. #neveragain

Went there last night for our first dinner in St. Pete, boy did they set the tone, I don't know if any other place can top it. Our waiter Gray was amazing, and the food was awesome. What a way to start our vacation

This place is usually a great place for seafood. Our server was not friendly. The portions of food were much smaller than they used to be. They also were playing Sinatra! Most restaurants at the beach are upbeat and fun! This one was terrible today! We won't be back for a while!

I'd been to this restaurant a few times in years past and found it so-so. Stopped in late tonight (Thursday), after 9pm as it was open. Found out it's not only a new owner but the whole interior was renovated about a year or more ago so it basically has nothing to do with the old restaurant as far as I could tell. Quesadillas are very large and my wife thought they were great. I had the mac n' cheese appetizer and it was great. I had blackened mahi-mahi fish tacos and they were average; fish tasted a little too fishy and the tortillas were a little dry. Fries were really good and overall it wasn't bad. I'd try it again, perhaps an off night due to the time, and I'll certainly be back to try more things on the menu. Last but not least; unlike the previous restaurant, they have good drink deals now! $3 wells all the time, and, wait for it, $18 vodka pitchers. This could be my new fantasy football hang out.

Best smoked fish dip I have had in a very long time. Nice big patio and lots of TV's for those interested. Mac and cheese was a major hit with my 4 year old son. Pulled pork was ok and the salad with grilled salmon for my wife was good.

So this was my second trip to Rick's Reef today but when I went before I had breakfast which apparently they no longer serve. My dad had been wanting to check them out for lunch since he hadn't been and we all regretted it. My dad and I got the pork toro sandwich which our waitress bragged about and it was a very tasteless sandwich. My mom got the chicken cheesesteak and she said it was just ok. I'm not real crazy about the restaurant itself as there is nothing special about it. It seems to be a favorite of some of the locals and has some pretty good beer specials. I have read other reviews and heard about good the food was and find that hard to believe based off our sampling. The only reason that I gave it 2 stars is because of the service. Definitely will not be back.

Great food - one of the best Grouper sandwiches I've had! Pet friendly too, we sat outside with our black lab and was offered water and some bacon (politely declined on the bacon haha). This is a great little spot to stop and have a bite after a long day at the beach.

We took the whole family here including the grandbaby. Great atmosphere and excellent service, Katy you were awesome. The Mac N Cheese!!!, if a piece of it landed on your forehead your tongue would beat you to death trying to get to it!!!! The Big Dipper was heaven in my mouth!!! And the Key lime cheesecake, WOW!!!! Everything that everyone ate was perfect. Will be back time and time again.

A quaint casual place. Great place to kick back, have a drink and some good food. I had the shrimp casadillas which were good. Ambiance is cute, an informal beach bar and restaurant. The owner was nice but our server was a little slow and didn't check back on our drinks. Still... It was a nice place for lunch.

Great place to recover from your morning hangover. Best $2.00 Bloody Mary in Saint Petes! Get a side of bacon top kick up your cocktail. If your lucky you might get a complimentary coozy and sticker!

    (4)
  • Heather R.

Get the burger...no questions asked! The rest of the menu looks yummy but the burger is juicy and flavorful without being greasy. The $2 Bloody Mary was just ok but they have a fun, varied draft beer menu to make up for it.

Loved The Reef before it was Rick's! It's got a wonderful atmosphere and the friendliest staff ever, the waitress was always smiling. It's got very large tables (although not very many, but since I went during the afternoon it wasn't busy at all) and looks very accommodating to large parties. The food portions are absolutely gigantic and all taste really great! Come here hungry!! The only complaint would be that my food was only a little undercooked, but that's fine with my family since we're fine with red meat!! The fries were a little weird too because they looked like they should be crispy but they're a little soft, but they tasted fine all the same.

This place is awesome I loved the service and the food was delicious! I had the shrimp with capers and we had the barbeque sliders!! We watched patriots and had a ball!

This is a nice casual restaurant. The food is good and the service is good if you have the right bartender or waitataff. All of the guys behind the bar have been great but the lady that has been there a couple of times is pretty miserable and acts like she is doing a big favor. I have also had a couple of pretty mixed up orders seated at the table although one evening a new waitress was training. The food is generally good. Not gourmet but tasty. Salads are sometimes a bit over-dressed. The buffalo shrimp is great. The wings are great. The burgers are excellent and if they have the ribs on special, give them a go! I would give this place 4 stars except for the spotty service.

This place is amazing! We were on our honeymoon and stopped by for lunch. I had the best burger that I've ever had. I'm a big dude, I've eaten a lot of burgers, non are close to this one. The food and service are great! I highly recommend this place to eat!

A group of us went here while a family member was using their timeshare on St. Pete Beach. The good: The food portions were large and decent. The server was nice and friendly. The Average: The food was your average beach bar food and the price was just ok. The lunch portions were ok, but I didn't want a sandwich and paid for a dinner . It was basally a lunch portion, but 2 sides and cost $5 more. I probably should have just ordered the sandwich without the bun and saved $5. Nothing special about the food, but props for the large portions.

This place was good. We want with some friends and we all ordered the Mahi sandwich. We liked that and the gator bites. The atmosphere is great for a game day. Sit outside and you will have a blast!

Cute place right on the beach with great prices! Make sure you bring cash, the only reason it is not a five star is because they do not sell liquor and they only accept cash. Really friendly staff however and fabulous prices.

  • Amy N.

Awesome food. The grouper is the best I've ever had and the owner gave us a sampling of the fish spread. It was so good we had to come back out a few days later to have it again. Great place with definitely be back.

My husband and I came here for dinner and so glad we did! Looks like a dive from the outside but the food is the best in the area! We got the fish tacos, crab cakes, and buffalo shrimp and everything was great! Service was awesome - everyone was very friendly and prices were good. Can't beat it!

After a long relaxing day at the beach stopped in for a late dinner. We had Fish tacos and Big Dipper. Both were very tasty and fulfilling. We sat at the bar. The bartender was very nice and gave good advise on menu selections (Jesse). Would definitely go back.

Really enjoyed our meal at Rick's Reef. Grouper sandwich was excellent. We had it both grilled and fried, and both ways were delicious. The homemade fries were also excellent. We also tried the buffalo shrimp, mac and cheese, and chicken tenders (kids meal) and everyone was very happy with their selections. I tried some of the chicken myself, and it was quite good. The service also was excellent. Our server was attentive and friendly, and the food was very prompt. All in all, it was a great casual place for a tasty family meal.

  • Robert B.

The atmosphere is nice and beachy, but I had the fish tacos and gator bites and both were very dry and mostly breading. On Saturdays they have a smoked salmon special which is really good, but rest of the menu isn't too impressive.

Went here for lunch today. Awesome food huge side of fresh cut fries....stopped by the beach bar as well Sam the bartender makes the best "Miami vice" 1/2 piña colada 1/2 strawberry daiquiri

Nice little beach bar with great food. The mac and cheese is the best! Drinks were cheap and strong. Service is inconsistent, waitress messed up an order in our party and it seemed like we were bothering her at times. She did mention that they were short-staffed however. Definitely recommend the place either way!

Our server recommended Mac and cheese and boy was it delicious! Excellent customer service from kelsey even though it was super busy she was very nice and patient. The food was very well priced and was absolutely delicious! Definitely recommend tourists to check out this local favorite. We found it as local favorites on Google.

Chris smiled in our faces as he gave us the weakest margaritas. Shirley said they were gross, straight mix, damn near virgin!!! Yuck, it's in a decent location with colorful chairs on the beach, nice touch.

  • Dan D.

This place is ok. I have been here twice now. The first time I got the special smoked pork dinner, that tasted all like smoke and not like BBQ should taste like. The coleslaw was good though. This time I went chicken Philly and was pleasantly surprised after the last encounter. The wait staff here is really friendly and helpful with anything you need. With limited restaurants on st pete beach this is worth a try.

Quintessential beach bar faire. Rick's Reef does it right without trying too hard. When we're in St Pete Beach this is a place where we eat at least a couple times! Fish tacos are awesome.

I really do not like to leave a review like this. However, this place is horrible. Our food took an excess of fourty minutes. When the food finally arrived. Poached eggs way over cooked, broken hollendaise, cold homefries. Good luck guys. I will not be returning.

My wife and I were in town for a wedding over the weekend and prior to leaving wanted to go to a place with a 'local feeling' and Rick's Reef was recommended to us. After reading some reviews we decided we needed to swing by and check it out. We ended up sitting at the bar outside which was awesome as there was a Rays game, the other people there were friendly and talked to us and the bar tender was awesome and gave us nice recommendations. Every Saturday they smoke their own meats and they recommended the sliders but at the time it seemed like it would be too heavy (I regret this as the patron next to us got them and they looked great!). I ended up getting the fish tacos with french fries and my wife got the smoked fish dip (she didnt want to eat much) Needless to say, the tacos were excellent and the fish dip was awesome. While we were told it was not made in house, it was in fact made fresh locally which was awesome and if we hadnt had such a long ride home, I would have taken some to go. All in all the service, food, and atmosphere were all awesome and if ever in St. Pete Beach you should definately give it a try.

I was a fan of Rick's when it was simply called The Reef. Sadly, it closed and the place was quiet for some time. Happy to now say the place is even better. New decor is clean and inviting. The service is exceptional. This is a place for locals which is sometimes hard to find on the beach. The Mac and Cheese app was ok...nothing spectacular but good. STILL one of the best burgers on the beach. Pick your toppings....I opted for bacon and blue cheese. And the fried corn...oh my!

You can't find a more relaxed place that offers a GREAT value meal combined with tremendous service and atmosphere in St. Pete's Beach. We ate there twice while spending a get away weekend only to wish we had more time to try the different menu items. I was shocked that they had my favorite single malt and that it was price so reasonable. I think it is one of the best kept secrets of St Pete's Beach. You won't be disappointed with the selection or outstanding service. Rick's Reef will be my first choice next time I am there.

This was a recommendation from a friend that lives in the area. I went during lunch on a Thursday and it was mostly empty. Food was awesome and tasted fresh. I had the Blackened Mahi sandwich and my brother had the blackened fish(Mahi ) tacos. Beer was cold food was great. It was reasonably priced and I liked the decor. We tried the smoked fish dip and it was great too. Definitely a place I will eat again.

Wish I could give less than a star. My fiancé and I are not picky eaters. As long as the food is hot and on out table in a reasonable amount of time, we can work out the rest. Our experience here tonight was beyond ridiculous. It may be the worst dining experience we have ever had. First of all, we were super hungry when we arrived so we ordered onion rings as an appetizer. About 10 minutes later our waitresses came by to check on us and admits she forgot to put our order in, so we put in our dinner order and waited another 10 minutes for our appetizers. The onion rings were pretty good, although a bit saltier than any other place we've ever had onion rings at. While eating our appetizer, the couple next to us managed to smoke 2 cigarettes apiece and we had to ask to move inside. The "patio" is completely closed in so we couldn't believe they allowed people to smoke at their table, when obviously not all the guests smoke. As an ex smoker, I feel my tolerance for cigarette smoke is pretty high, so if you've never smoked, you would be absolutely appalled to sit on the "patio". Don't do it. Once we were seated indoors, we told the guy who appeared to be the manager that we'd been waiting for our dinner for about 40 minutes so he went to go check on our food. The food arrived about 5 minutes later. My fiancé order the mac n cheese and a burger, while I had the meatloaf with potato salad and fries ( they were out of mashed potatoes). I figured hubby could have the fries and I could have the potato salad. Upon the first bite of meatloaf after a 40 minute wait---it was ICE cold! Like from the fridge cold. :\ I sent the plate back to see if the meatloaf could be reheated. Hubby's Mac and cheese??? ICE COLD!!! We sent that back too. How can food be so cold after such a long wait??? My plate was obviously thrown into a microwave because the potato salad came back hot. My fiancé has to send back the mac and cheese not once, not twice, but 3 f***ing times in order to get hot mac and cheese. Again, we are hardly picky people. We actually can't stand overly picky people who are impossible to please and can't be satisfied with anything. BUT, c'mon---you've got to be kidding me!!! The waitress seemed frustrated when she sat my fiancé's mac and cheese on the table the last time. She did apologize and we told her it was no biggie. As for the taste of the food, we both agreed the mac and cheese was tasty, so was my meatloaf although it was extremely salty. If we hadn't already sent the food back I would have sent the meatloaf back because it just had too much salt---plus we were very hungry. Potato salad was warm so I didn't eat it. Hubby said his burger was bland but happy it was hot. I could tell my fries were nuked because they were soggy the 2nd time they came out of the kitchen. When the bill arrived, I couldn't believe they charged us full price for everything we ordered. We paid the bill and got up to leave, when we notice the waitress talking about us in a frustrated manner. We will NEVER eat here again, no matter what. How can a restaurant fail so badly and then make it apparent that they feel the customer is to blame for their poor food and service. We didn't complain, we just paid the bill and left. There are too many restaurants nearby to ever waste our time or money here again. Btw, it is Christmas Day and they weren't very busy. Our experience should have been better.

Had Breakfast only. GET THE CORNED BEEF HASH!!! One of the best I've had. It isn't on the menu, and it is not there all the time. we were there on a Saturday and they had it. GREAT! I would go back for sure and I wanted to try them for lunch!

Formerly known as "The Reef". I had been here once before a few years ago and it was nothing to write home about. But after a massive makeover this place has really changed for the better! They have a really nice outdoor area with wrap around benches and tables for outdoor dining. Everything is very clean and bright looking. Inside is very beacy without being tacky. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very nice and accomodating. I didn't have a drink so can't say how those are yet. For dinner I got the burger with chedder and grilled onions. I asked for it medium rare and it was pretty close to well done. It still tasted pretty good, which I think says a lot bout their meat. I was too hungry to send it back, but told the waitress and she was very nice about it. Their hand cut fries are some of the best I've had. I also had a bite of my friends mac and cheese and it was crave worthy. Nice and cheesy with breadcrumb topping! The prices were also really reasonable. My burger was $7, but I added the cheese and onions for an extra 50 cents each. They're also dog friendly so we got to bring along our pup. They even had dog bowls with ice water. Overall this was a great experience and we'll definitely be back!

The wife and I have been wanting to try Rick's Reef for quite sometime, but every time we arrive it is PACKED...standing room only! (thats a good sign) We finally were able to come in on a Saturday afternoon during a "1 year birthday celebration" for Rick's. it was a small quaint, yet warm and welcoming group of people. We ordered onion rings and a couple of beers. The onion rings were....onion rings....but the beer was ICE cold...coldest beer I have had in a LONG time here in St. Pete. Then the owner walked by and asked if we had tried the salmon, which we had not. He said " I know a guy who knows a guy" and came back with a plate of slow smoked salmon.....now we are from the Pacific NW, born and raised in Portland, Or, we catch salmon on the rivers all day long, we KNOW salmon. This may be one of the BEST salmons I have EVER eaten. The only better salmon was a place on the Columbia River in Oregon served with fresh blackberry drizzle. This salmon had the perfect mixture of moist, but smoke and a true slow smoked crust that was unbelievable! He then said come back tomorrow for the slow smoked pork.....26 hours on the smoker! I never made it back the next day (long night!) We will for sure return to this hidden gem on the strip!

Our favorite stop when we drive into St. Pete. The staff is always entertaining and friendly and the owner really seems to have it right. Love the food, music and to smell the food out on the smoker. Always had a great time and enjoy sitting outside and even bringing the dog. Love the sliders!!!!

Ate at Rick's for dinner with a group of 10. Everything from meatloaf to the Mahi dinner was great. Service excellent. Priced well. Good fishy décor. I recommend it.

We were searching for a nice place to eat on a Friday night and Rick's fit the bill. We couldn't get into Dockside Dave's so with this place close by, we took a chance and boy were we satisfied. Grouper sandwich was top notch and the Mac and Cheese was maybe the best I have ever tasted. My wife got the fish tacos and was really impressed. Music was playing on the outside bar so that was nice. Only knock on the place is that it's small and they allow smoking at the outside bar and it does drift into the dinning area (not a big deal to me but could be for some). Overall the food was excellent and the prices are very good. A must try!!!

The Mrs. and i were at St Pete Beach for a few days of fun and sun and just a few short blocks from the hotel we discovered a gem, Ricks Reef. Walking up to the entrance we were greeted by the sound of laid back tunes and the sight of servers opening the door for us. We did simple fare having the grouper sandwich special and simply put the best fried grouper sandwich I'd ever had. The prices are very reasonable. We bellied up to the bar and had a couple and enjoyed the music. We will return anytime we get down that way!

Food is incredible here. So many great items to choose from. I love the atmosphere and how consistently good the food is. Added bonus is that I can bring my dog to grab some food and a refreshing beverage.

Good food, with many of the staples you can get up and down Gulf BLVD and at very reasonable prices. Live music was a nice addition without being intrusive. Fries could've been tastier. Will definitely be back.

My husband and I have been working right next to Rick's Reef for the past couple of weeks, and have gotten tired of fast food for lunch (and dinner when the days turn late), so we decided to try Rick's Reef. The prices were reasonable, and it was right there. The first time we went, we were impressed with the tastiness of the dipping sauce that came with the sandwich (don't remember the exact name), and the fresh cut potatoes that were used for the fries. When we went for dinner the next night, and had the mac and cheese appetizer, we were amazed. It was so simple and easy, yet so tasty and delicious. The entrees were no less impressive with the most tender chicken on my salad and his alfredo we have ever had. ...and speaking of the alfredo, my husband is a bit of a connoisseur, and there was nothing canned about this sauce. It was definitely fresh made...and delicious. I think we have now been 4 or 5 times in a week, and have not been disappointed yet! From the incredible homemade New England Clam Chowder to the homemade dressings to the simple, yet tasty BLT Bites, and the Lobster Mac and Cheese that they had for a special was to die for!!!!!!! We will definitely return, and bring friends and family here. However, one of the things I like the best is not that the food is amazing, but that it has always been incredibly clean, and the wait staff has been just as good as the food. It is a nice relaxed, casual atmosphere with food that rivals any of the stuffy fancy places on the beach.

Rick's Reef was good. Sort of like a Beach Bar /Sports Bar on the Gulf Blvd Strip. Shrimp were very good and fresh. She had a big garden fresh Salad.. Enjoyed it will go back!

Excellent! We use to go to the old Reef and based on recommendations from friends and strangers we decided to give it a try. Samantha was the bartender and she was awesome. We met Rick and this guy is destined to be a winner. Mac n cheese was AWESOME, shrimp and Mahi tacos were great! We will be going back this Saturday for Lobster mac n cheese and smoked Salmon. Keep up the good work!

Omg this place was pretty awful. You'd have to be pretty drunk to find something worthwhile in a menu with about 10 items, bench chairs made out of 2x4's with sharp corners under your thighs, little wire mesh patio tables that look like they came from Walmart that have you bending over to eat, hillbilly country music playing overheard, and a really bad mixed drink.

I thought this was a great bargain at the beach. I order the blackened mahi. It was slightly over done but the grilled veggies were cooked to perfection. Nice atmosphere and live music.

I have always been a big fan of this place. I would say its a hidden jem but obviously many people have found this place enjoyable. The food is fantastic. The menu has a huge selection. It offers Sanwiches, Seafood, great appetizers and pretty much anything else you may have a taste for. They offer a late night menu with a few selections once the kitchen is shutting down but they still leave there burger on instead of the typical fried options offered on most other late menus. The gator bites are pretty interesting. For me at least since Im from Ohio! The drink prices are very well priced as well. It has an interesting set up with almost garage door like windows seperating the patio and the actual bar. Staff is always super friendly. When in spb I would recommend stopping in to Ricks Reef for a bite to eat and some drinks. Very chill and relaxing place.

The unfortunate part is I have been coming to St Pete Beach for over 40 years And yesterday was first time to Ricks. Needless to say I am back today. Great cheap drinks, great service, Terri Rocks!! Rick acknowledged our second day with some free coolie cups.... Ok now to the food I had the burger with provolone and grilled onions with tots and my girlfriend had the blackened grouper sandwich and fries Both were amazing and best we have had on the beach. We will for sure make this a regular spot for years to come Great prices, portions service and atmosphere... This was lunch. May be back for dinner.

I accidentally came across Rick's Reef while looking for parking on a Sunday afternoon beach day. My friend noticed the "$2 Bloody Mary" sign and we immediately decided to stop here. What a fantastic decision that turned into! Rick's Reef is an amazing, laid back beach bar right on Gulf Blvd. There is outdoor and indoor seating, but I must say that the best spot is at the bar. The bartender was extremely friendly and watching the locals come in and out is amazing (this is a true beach bar). The Bloody Marys were strong and very tasty. We ordered an appetizer of potato skins for $8...which turned out to be gigantic and fully loaded with cheeses and bacon. The menu was priced really reasonably and all of the food looked amazing as I saw it being served around the bar. The draft beer selection is notable...both local craft and domestics. But really...those $2 Bloody Marys will keep me coming back! A great little discovery on Gulf Blvd!!!

Amazing! Fresh! Great Value!!! Start with the smoked fish dip then definitely get the blacked grouper sandwich or fish tacos! Great local feeling, but close to the scene. The owner even gave us a free piece smoked chicken....unbelievable flavor. Definitely will coming back!!!

This is an awesome place to eat and drink. The food is authentic, fresh and simple and really delicious. Also, we were impressed with how informative and knowledgable our server was of the menu. If you are a fish spread lover this place has the best in the area. Since they smoke the salmon onsite it makes for a fantastic spread! We also really liked the key-lime pie because it was the perfect combination of tart and creamy. The only thing I personally was not a fan of was the deep fried corn because it was too greasy for my taste however, my husband did like it and our friends recommended this place because of the corn.

I had a great time at this bar while I was visiting the Saint Petersburg Beach. While at the beach I was looking for a close bar with cold drinks to stop before heading out to tan for a little while, and this was just the place! The bartender was very attentive and sweet, giving us advice on other fun things to do in the area as well as some of the nightlife. The drink list is limited to beer, wine, and a few fruity cocktails (piña colada, margarita, strawberry daiquiri, etc) but we're very delicious and inexpensive for the quality ($4)! I came back for one more before I left the area, but I could see myself being a regular there if I lived in St. Pete. Definitely worth while!! I will come back.

We only came in for drinks but had an enjoyable time. We were attracted to the $2.00 Bloody Mary prices. I honestly wasn't expecting much for that price but was pleasantly surprised. The mix was nice and spicy. For an extra $1.00 you can upgrade to Smirnoff vodka and for an extra $2.00 you can upgrade to Ketel One, but we opted to just stick with the well vodka. Even though it was chilly out we sat on the porch and our bartender, Tom, was friendly and kept good conversation and our drinks filled. The next time we are in town we will stop in!

I cant give this place a full review as I only stopped in for a drink and to peruse the menu since theyre commercials on tv made it look appealing. Sat on the porch area at the bar which is weirdly outside and inside all at once. The server was rather neglectful at first but opened up after a bit. Prices seemed fair, the menu very basic beach bar food. Now I didn't try it, so maybe it's above average like people say but it read like your basic fish sandwich , fish taco, burger place. I'll go back and see as it was sort of quaint, and it appeared to be quite clean

Couldn't wait to post my review! This place rocked. We stopped in a family of four. After 3 beers, 2 margaritas, 2 kids meals, 2 adult meals and an app for $76. The food was outstanding. The kind of place you want to be a regular. The staff was super accommodating. Even gave the kids a game to play. Very casual. Can't wait to come again

I wanted to give it 4 stars but I cannot because of the horrible smell of cigarettes flowing through the inside of the restaurant from the bar. The inside is very small, and the outside is open/connected, so everyone smoking at bar is maybe 50 feet from us inside. I ended up reacting so badly to the smoke that I was ill. If you or anyone in your group is sensitive to cigarette smoke do not eat here. The inside tables are very close together, so the servers have issues getting through. The food is good, excellent potato skins. The shark sauce is hot but tasty. Cute place with good food if you don't mind smoke.

SMH.....

This is a local casual bar restaurant with very loud music. The food is very decent and clean but the focus seems to be on pushing the drinks. Its for younger folks for sure. We were sorry that the music volume could/would not be adjusted. Talking normally is difficult there. Nice varied menu.

Best smoked fish dip I have had in a very long time. Nice big patio and lots of TV's for those interested. Mac and cheese was a major hit with my 4 year old son. Pulled pork was ok and the salad with grilled salmon for my wife was good.

Cute place right on the beach with great prices! Make sure you bring cash, the only reason it is not a five star is because they do not sell liquor and they only accept cash. Really friendly staff however and fabulous prices.

After a long relaxing day at the beach stopped in for a late dinner. We had Fish tacos and Big Dipper. Both were very tasty and fulfilling. We sat at the bar. The bartender was very nice and gave good advise on menu selections (Jesse). Would definitely go back.

My husband and I came here for dinner and so glad we did! Looks like a dive from the outside but the food is the best in the area!

The atmosphere is nice and beachy, but I had the fish tacos and gator bites and both were very dry and mostly breading. On Saturdays they have a smoked salmon special which is really good, but rest of the menu isn't too impressive.

Nice little beach bar with great food. The mac and cheese is the best! Drinks were cheap and strong. Service is inconsistent, waitress messed up an order in our party and it seemed like we were bothering her at times. She did mention that they were short-staffed however. Definitely recommend the place either way!

Our favorite stop when we drive into St. Pete. The staff is always entertaining and friendly and the owner really seems to have it right. Love the food, music and to smell the food out on the smoker. Always had a great time and enjoy sitting outside and even bringing the dog. Love the sliders!!!!

The Mrs. and i were at St Pete Beach for a few days of fun and sun and just a few short blocks from the hotel we discovered a gem, Ricks Reef.

  • Dan M.
